 Welcome to St George Archers
St George Archers was formed in 1950 and is one of the oldest archery clubs in New South Wales. In 2010 we are celebrating our 60th Anniversary. St George Archers caters for archers of all ages and abilities.
We meet every Sunday from 9.30 am to set up the range for a 10 am start. On Wednesday evenings we shoot indoors during the winter and outdoors during daylight saving time.
We are located at A. S. Tanner Reserve on the corner of Chuter Avenue and Burlington Street at Monterey.

Just a reminder that there are a few inter-club and state events coming up in the next few months. The Jim Scott Clout, Northern Junior Challenge and State Short Course Target Championships are going to be held at various venues over the next five weeks and the closing date for all of these events is the 21st May. 2011 Archery Society of NSW Presentation Night
Congratulations to St George Archers who were recognised for their achievements during 2011 at the recent state Archery Society Presentation Night. Flocy was awarded the Janet Wilkes Memorial Trophy as Veteran Archer of the Year, the first woman to receive the award in over a decade, as well as a performance award. Jess was awarded the Grace Drake Memorial Trophy for the overall junior girl target champion as well as awards for overall junior recurve champion and best all round girl recurver. Dominic G recieved the Arthur Chapman Trophy for the best all round Intermediate recurve archer. Willy and Keith also received performance awards for their achievements in barebow compound and crossbow archery, respectively. Jess also gave a short presentation about her recent trip to New Zealand as part of the Australian team for the Trans Tasman Junior Challenge. It was a great night and congratulations to everyone on the achievements.

2012 National Archery Open Championships Congratulations to Dale, Paul, Mari-Luise, Willy, Flocy and Jess who recently competed in the National Archery Championships in Canberra. Many fun times were had, PBs were shot, records set, and medals won. Full results may be found on the Archery Australia website as well as details of next year's championships, also to be held at Tuggeranong.

Bruce Dillon admitted into the Australian Archery Hall of Fame and Museum for 2012
  
It was with great pride that St George Archers were able to join with Bruce and Dorothy Dillon and their family at the induction of Bruce into the Austalian Archery Hall of Fame and Museum in 2012.
Bruce has been involved in archery in Australia for over 30 years and during this time has made an amazing contribution to the sport and its participants at all levels. He is a very deserving recipient of this honour.
The induction was held at the annual Banquet that is held in conjunction with the Archery Expo on the weekend of the 25-26 February 2012 at the Liverpool Catholic Club, Sydney.

Wheelchair Sports NSW
St George Archers recently hosted some visitors from Wheelchair Sports NSW for a Come-n-Try morning for some of their juniors interested in archery, followed by a BBQ lunch. It was a great day and thanks go especially to Bruce, Dale and Keith for organising 'behind-the-scenes' and providing the coaching on the day.


St George Archers triumphant at 13th Australian Masters Games
Four members of St George Archers recently travelled to Adelaide to participate in the 13th Australian Masters Games. Athletes travelled from all over the country to participate in over 50 different sports over a ten day period in early October. Our representatives, Mari-Luise Agius, Willy Eggermont, Flocy Martir and Paul Simonides, shot in the target, field and clout events in the archery section. They were all successful, medalling in each of their divisions in each shooting discipline. A huge congratulations to them all for their fine efforts and results!
